Description:

Stephenson High School Chapter of the National Honor Society celebrated Arbor Day by planting a flowering crab tree in downtown Stephenson. Members of the society who participated included seniors Brigette Hartges, Katelyn Kozikowski, Josh Nerat, Austin Newlin, Jono Newlin, Tessa Rye, Megan Zahorik; juniors Darien Kent, Michaela Marks, Kyle Raboin and Chelsea Turcotte. Special guests, standing, second from right, were Stephenson Mayor Lowell Bengry and, far right, Chuck Schwenner, vice chairman of Menominee Conservation District, which donated the tree. Tree protector and fertilizer were supplied by Hanson's Double G Hereford Farm; fencing supplies were donated by Paidl's Hardware. The planting included an engraved commemorative marker, compliments of the National Honor Society. Standing at left is Cheryl Hanson, society advisor.
