Description:
In spite of the great loss, the Andersons decided to rebuild their bakery on the same site and in the same architectural style. When the bakery reopened five months later on Nov. 7, 1977, the late Joe LaComb of Stephenson, (Above photo) purchased the first loaf of bread from Marlene and Ron Anderson at the new facility. His purchase was in keeping with a tradition established when LaComb purchased the first loaf of bread from baker Joe Beaudoin, when the original bakery opened in the late 1920s. The business is still meeting the bakery needs of the area as Rise-n-Shine Bakery. It is owned and operated by Brenda Meade.
