Stephenson Eagle Kane Rasner, son of Mike and Heidi Rasner, Wallace, signed a letter of intent this week to play football at Michigan Technological University in Houghton. With him at the signing were his dad, at right in photo; standing at left is Chad Brandt, varsity football coach; at right is Stephen Paliewicz superintendent. The university has recruited Rasner for a wide receiver position on its Husky football team. Rasner broke the school record for receptions during his career - 96. During his high school football career, he set a school record for receiving with over 1,600 yards. He tied the record for TD receiving with three in one game. He also tied the record for receiving yards in a game at 194. During the 2011 season, he made 50 catches for 855 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is following in his father's footsteps by attending MTU and his sister is in her freshman year there. He plans to study chemical engineering.
