Mid-County Rescue Squad, Stephenson, has purchased a new rescue vehicle. The 2010 Medtec ambulance body on a Chevrolet G4500 chassis has a Duromax diesel engine. It replaces the 2003 vehicle which was traded in. The new vehicle was purchased with money donated by the public. Grants were not available at this time. It was put in service at the end of May. The squad, which services nearly 1,000 square miles, is offering an Emergency Medical Technician course starting Sept. 21. For information, call 906-753-4729 or 906-753-4938.
