Description:
A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a barn and machine shed on County Road 338 July 13. The fire is believed to have started after midnight. When Michael Linsmeier, owner, left for work early in the evening, everything was fine. When he returned from his 12-hour shift at 8:30 a.m., the buildings were totally lost. The contents of two silos also started on fire and the structures had to be taken down. Heat melted the siding on the house and cracked some windows. The farm had belonged to the Ken Rasner family and, for many years, was a dairy operation. Linsmeier has owned the farm for eight years.
