Brian Beal, 30, Ingalls, died May 18, 2011, unexpectedly at home.

He was born Jan. 29, 1981, to Cathy Payne and Bernard Beal in Marinette. He graduated from Menominee High School in 1999. After graduation he worked for his father's construction company, Beal Contracting. In 2002 he was hired on at UPS in Marinette where he continued to work as a delivery driver. Brian was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Menominee. On Aug. 20, 2010, he married Laura Filibeck. He loved playing softball with his family and friends and spending time with his twin boys.

He is survived by his wife; parents Cathy (Dale) Herbst, Menominee, and Bernard Beal, Menominee; two sons Aiden and Lucas, Ingalls; two brothers, Jon (Shanna) Beal, Menominee, Jason (Becky) Beal, Marinette; mother-in-law, Tammy (Dave) Weinschrott, DePere, WI; sister-in-law, Lisa Filibeck, DePere, nieces and nephews; maternal grand mother, Jane Payne; and paternal grandmother, Viola Beal, aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Payne; and paternal grandfather, Clarance Beal; and father-in-law Steve Filibeck.

Anna Katherine Desjarlais, 87, Daggett, died May 17, 2011, at Roubal Care and Rehab Center, Stephenson.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (O'Neill) Dillon, Franklin, MI; two sons, Wayne (Nancy), Otisville, MI, and Robert (Nina), Daggett, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister Rose (Steve) Berzsenyi, Stephenson; and brother, Joe Hollo, Escanaba.

Family and friends called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 21 at Precious Blood Catholic Church. Father Corey Litzner officiated. Pallbearers were her grand children, Melissa Desjarlais, Justin Desjarlais, Nathanael Desjarlais, Nadya Jenkins, Katelin Brown and Pierce Desjarlais. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery, Daggett. Memorial contributions may be made in Ann's name to Precious Blood Catholic Church, S304 Bluff St., Stephenson, MI 49887 or the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

Mildred E. Fredholm, 88, Menominee, died May 9, 2011, at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.

She was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Columbus, OH, to the late William and Ruth (Dillon) Shields. Mildred married John Fredholm. He preceded her in death in 1970. Mildred worked for many years as a bartender/hostess at Schussler's Supper Club in Peshtigo and she also worked with her husband painting. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee. Her passion was golfing at North Shore Golf Club.

She is survived by a niece and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, William and Leslie Shields.

Memorial service was held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee May 21. The Rev. Douglas Schoen officiated. Burial was in the Fancher Cemetery in Ohio. The Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family.

James L. Guard, 90, Carney, died May 24, 2011, at Roubal Care and Rehab Center, Stephenson.

He was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Carney to the late Charles and Mary (Olson) Guard. He attended Carney schools and graduated from Stephenson High School. James served in the Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Fifth Armored Division and the Third Army under General Patton. He earned a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota in 1949. He worked in the Chicago area as a food chemist and laboratory manager for Jewel Food Companies. He retired and moved to Carney in 1971. After retirement, he worked in public service and spearheaded the drive for incorporation of the Village of Carney, where he served on the council and as clerk for 25 years. He also led the drive for a public water system in Carney and was chairman of the water authority there for 34 years.

Jim is survived by sisters, Marian (Wesley) Anderson, Carney, and Helen Ray of Marquette, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lucille Guard; brother, Carl Guard; sister-in-law, Naomi (Anderson) Guard, and brother-in-law, Robert Ray.

In keeping with his wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held. His remains will be cremated and buried in Hillside Cemetery, Carney. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Robert Dale Larson, Sr., 79, died May 23, 2011.

Bob was born April 26, 1932, in Porterfield, WI, to the late Gustave and Edith (Lundgren) Larson. He graduated from Marinette High School with the Class of 1950. On Sept. 9, 1959, he married Dolores Frenzel. She preceded him in death Aug. 20, 1988. He worked for Gateway Trucking, retiring after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 327. Bob enjoyed playing guitar, listening to bluegrass and country music, watching Nascar and the Packers, and gardening. His greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Larson and Amy (Brian) McKenney, both of Marinette; three sons, Robert Larson, Jr., Marinette, Mark Larson, Red Granite, WI, and Brad Larson, De Pere, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy and Mildred, both of Milwaukee; two brothers, Richard (Barb), Marinette, and Herbert, Black River Falls, WI, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dory, Toni and Helen; and three brothers, Roy, Harry and Ben.

Friends and family may call May 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Anderson Kell Funeral Home. A private family service will be held. Burial was in Birch Creek Cemetery.

Harry Marciniak, 95, died May 10, 2011. He was born July 30, 1915, in Depue, IL, to Louis and Stella (Hybki) Marciniak.

He was raised in Stephenson on the family farm. He married Helen Gorecki Nov. 21, 1942, while on furlough during WWII. He served in North Africa and Italy. Upon his discharge from the army, he and his wife settled in the Milwaukee area where they raised their family. He worked for Interstate Drop Forge until his retirement in 1980. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and visiting all 50 states. He was one of the veterans on the November 2010, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He was an active member of St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, West Allis, WI.

He is survived by three children, Mary June (Richard) Fries, Thomas (Diane) Marciniak, and Karen (Michael) Seidel, three grandsons, two great-grand daughters; a sister, Mary (Chester) Kozlowski; brother, George Marciniak, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; siblings, Sylvester, Florence Wiesner, Sarah Borden and Walter.

Services were held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI, May 21. Interment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, P.O. Box 636, Port Washington, WI 53074.

Rita J. Mayville, 68, Menominee, died May 18, 2011, at home.

She was born Dec. 8, 1942, to the late Wallie and Dorothy (Tessmer) Parrett in Daggett. She graduated from Stephenson High School Class of 1960. On June 16, 1962, Rita married Ron Mayville at St. Anne's Church, Menominee. She was a member of Resurrection Church. Rita drove school bus for the Menominee Area Public Schools for over 30 years. She enjoyed meeting new people, gardening, camping, fishing and, most importantly, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of Menominee; daughter, Kim (Bruce) Eickmeyer, Wallace; son, Mick, Porterfield, five grandchildren; sisters, Diane (Gene) Wangerin, Stephenson, and Shirlee (Beaver) Wangerin, Wallace; sister-in-law, Susan Van Dusen, Iron Mountain, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lowell.

Friends called at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home with parish prayers with Deacon Vince Beckley officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial took place at Resurrection Parish May 20 with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich officiating. Burial was in Stephenson Township Cemetery.

Jeanne Marie Pearson, 62, Belvidere, IL, died May 17, 2011, in Swedish American Hospital.

Born Jan. 20, 1949, in Milwaukee, daughter of Clarence and Delores (Seifert) Mayer. She married Dale Pearson June 26, 1971, in Milwaukee. Jeanne enjoyed reading, watching the birds, crocheting, going for motorcycle rides, mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Andrew T. (Antrea), Waterford, WI, Aaron J. (Melissa Markise), Rockford; daughter Nissa R. (Scott) Scheel, St. Louis, MO, six grandchildren; her parents; sister, Sandy Sorenson; brothers, Steven, David, Gary and Paul Mayer, nieces and nephews and friends.

Robert Louis Rehm, 63, Stephenson, died May 21, 2011, at home.

He was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Geneva, IL, to the late Robert B. Rehm and Lois (Stott) Rehm-Vierkandt. On July 27, 1979, Robert married Cathy Belmore in Pine City, MN. Robert was an owner/operator truck driver for 43 years. Truck driving was his passion and he enjoyed being his own boss. He also enjoyed fast cars and old cars, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of Stephenson; six children, Deb Bishop (Bruce) Vicki Olson, Bobbi Pino-Y-Torres (Jose), Kerry Chaney, Mark Everett (Shannon), Bob Everett, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Brent Rehm (Merry); sister, Jackie Willprecht; step-father, Richard Vierkandt, and an aunt. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Rehm; sister, Sue Cohen; and son-in-law, Rusty Chaney.

Family and friends called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, where service was held May 24. Burial was in Stephenson Township Cemetery.
