Donald James Price, 67, Menominee, died July 17, 2011, at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah, WI.

Don was born July 27, 1943, in Owosso, MI, to the late Gerald and Marie (Dolly) (Kuntze) Price. On March 21, 1986, he married Janet Fournier in Owosso. Don worked for General Motors retiring in 1998 after 33 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting and the many hours spent golfing at North Shore Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife of Menominee; two daughters, Ann (Scott) Gray, Hartland, MI, and Lauri (Jack) Speckmann, Holt, MI; two sons, Darcy Price, Atlanta, GA, and Paul (Sheila) Wilkinson, Stephenson, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grand children; two brothers, Gerald (Beverley) Price, Corunna, MI, and Larry Price, Owosso. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald RB; and sister, Beverly.

Family and friends may call at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, July 20, from 3 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 4 p.m. Reverend Jim Mathews officiating.

Frank (Farmer) J. Nowack, Sr., 96, Spalding, died July 14, 2011, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, Powers, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born April 21, 1915, to the late Franklin and Magdalen (Safranak) Nowack in Spalding. On Aug. 20, 1936, he married Amy Fezatte at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding. Farmer was employed by the Powers Spalding/North Central Schools as supervisor of custodial staff and bus driver for 44 years. He was a woodworker and gardener and also enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors including hunting, fishing and going to camp. Farmer was a founding member of Normenco Sportsman's Club and the Spalding Township Fire Department, where he was an active member from 1956 to 2010. He was also a member of the Powers-Spalding Lions Club. Farmer made maple syrup each spring until the age of 93.

He is survived by three sons, Joe (Diane) Nowack, Spalding, Gerald (Jeanette) Nowack, Powers, and James (Connie) Nowack, Spalding. 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; two daughters, Judy Bellefeuil and Jeane Weber; one infant son, John; and two, grandchildren Jon and Jennifer.

Friends called at Allo Coolman Funeral Home, Spalding. A funeral service was held July 19 at the funeral home with Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Burial was in Spalding Township Cemetery. Visit www.allofh.com to send online condolences to the family.

Dorothy Mack, Gourley Township, died Dec. 12, 2010. Graveside memorial service, Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery, Wilson, July 23, 3:30 p.m. CT. Luncheon will follow the burial at Seventh-day Adventist School, Wilson.

Helen Marie Laurin, 92, Stephenson, died July 17, 2011, at Bay Area Medical Center.

Helen was born March 8, 1919, in Nadeau, to the late Syrel and Octavia (Charles) Laurin. On Sept. 16, 1937, she married William Laurin at St. Bruno Catholic Church. Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, picking berries, flowers and canning. She also enjoyed praying the rosary. Time spent with her grandchildren is what Helen enjoyed most. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.

She is survived by three sons, Ed (Fran), Ramsey, MI, Brian (Debbie), Wallace, and Mike (Roxanne), Daggett; five daughters, Sharon Tousignant, Carney, Yvonne (Dan) Cichantek, Manitowoc, WI, Rose (Wilfred) Borden, Menominee, Bev (Jim) Corey, Ingalls, and Diane (Dick) Puddy, Sheboygan, WI, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brother, James (Doris) Laurin, Milwaukee; two sisters, Ethel Eichhorn, Powers, and Shirley (Sonny) Adams, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Sandra; son, Steven; grand sons, Willy and James, eight brothers and sisters.

Family and friends called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home July 19. Visitation will continue July 20 at St. Bruno Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Father Michael Vichich officiating. Burial will follow in Nadeau Township Cemetery.

James R. Hodge, 65, Menominee, died July 12, 2011, at the University Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, while awaiting a second donation for a lung re-transplant.

James Rodney Hodge was born July 25, 1945, to the late Rodney and Ruby (Edwards) Hodge in Ironwood, MI. Following high school graduation Jim continued his education at Northern Michigan University and achieved his masters degree at University of Michigan. Starting his career in education, he worked as an administrative intern in Flint Public Community Schools. He returned to the U.P. in 1968. For the next 19 years he was involved with the Menominee Public Schools, serving as community school director, athletic director, assistant superintendent and then superintendent of Menominee Area Public Schools. Jim earned several awards, including Jaycee Young Educator of the Year; UP Community Education Association's Outstanding Educator and Lifetime Member Award and Menominee Chamber of Commerce Educator of the year Award.

Jim married Greta Theuerkauf Nov. 7, 1970. In 1987, Jim joined State Farm Insurance and served the community for roughly 20 years, retiring Jan. 1, 2007. He continued his community involvement as immediate past president of BAMC Board of Directors, past president of Interfaith Manor HUD Housing and Northland Lutheran Retirement Community Inc. board of directors. Jim also served two terms as president of Big Brothers/Sisters of Menominee and as trustee of YMCA Board of Directors. Jim was the 2010 recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year Ron Wipfli Award. He volunteered his time to the Menominee Middle School and Menominee High School Track and Field programs. He was a member and past congregation president of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Menominee and held various offices. He loved his family and his grandchildren. He loved going to his camp with Reggie, his dog.

He is survived by his wife Greta, Menominee; son Wade (Whitney) Aldrich, Waterbury, VT.; daughters Tiffany (Jeff) Gilbert, Jericho, VT, and Tarra Hodge, Lafayette, IN, three grandchildren; two sisters, Carolann (Reid) Marsh, and Debbie Hodge, and one niece, all in NC; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gerald and Grace Theuerkauf, Menominee; his extended Theuerkauf family including brothers-in-law, Howard (Maureen), Bob (Dany), Walter, David (Audrey), Donn (Sharon), nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jackie.

Visitation was held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson. Funeral was held July 17 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee. Reverend Douglas Schoen officiated. Burial was July 18 at the Norway Township Cemetery, Norway. A memorial fund has been established in Jim's name for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF). www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org
