Velda P. Beavans, 88, Marinette, died July 15, 2010.
She was born Aug. 17, 1921, to the late Frederick and Georgie (Reinhardt) Oppenlander in Fort Wayne, IN.
On May 17, 1952, she married Lester S. Beavans. He preceded her in death.
In 2005 Velda moved to Marinette. She was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Organization.
She is survived by a son, David (Debbie) Beavans, Nederland, CO; a daughter, Andrea (Thomas) Geltz, Wallace; a sister-in-law, Norma Isley, Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Oppenlander; and three sisters, Glessna O. Snider, Gwendolyn D. Candler, and Helen M. Smith.
Friends may call Aug. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Marinette. Additional time of visitation will be held Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. until time of service. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Craig Mansur officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.

Donald Carl Christensen, 80, 1300 22nd Ave., Menominee, died July 28, 2010, at Menominee Care Center.
He was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Peshtigo, to the late Carl and Pearl (Fetterly) Christensen. He was married to Margaret Langer.
He served in the United States Navy, from 1947-1950 aboard the U.S.S. Compton. For many years he worked for Sentinal Structures, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and a former member of Menominee American Legion Post No. 146. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at his camp in Daggett. He also looked forward to his daily card games.
He is survived by his best friend and partner of 42 years, Caroline Jarman; his four children, Mark (Janice) Christensen, Niles, MI, Larry (Laurie) Christensen, Menominee, Laurel (Jim) Powell, Marinette, and Phillip (Chrysta) Christensen, Escanaba, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Christensen, Sterling, IL, and Marvin (Joyce) Christensen, Fond du Lac, WI; his extended family, Cindy (Jeff) Carlson, Kingsford, Kevin Jarman and Chum Jarman both of Menominee, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two treat-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Christensen; and infant brother, Ralph Allen Christensen.
Family and friends called at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. A memorial service was held there Aug. 1 with the Rev. Douglas Schoen officiating.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo.

Irene D. Gorenchan, 89, 2415 5th Ave., S., Escanaba, died July 30, 2010, at Christian Park Health Care Center.
She was born May 2, 1921, in Gladstone, the daughter of Joseph and Ester (Olson) Wiltzius. She attended Escanaba schools, graduating in 1939.
Irene married John M. Gorenchan May 2, 1944, at St. Joseph Church. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine (Boyd) Underwood, Las Vegas, and Patricia (Tony) Cousineau, Green Bay; two sons, John (Pauline) Gorenchan, Escanaba, and Robert (Donna) Gorenchan, Menominee, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.
Visitation: Aug. 4 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Homes, Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church, with Rev. Eric Olson officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
Donna R. Hartwig, 72, Wallace, died July 30, 2010, at Bay Area Medical Center.
She was born April 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Chaikowski) Schroeder.
On Sept. 5, 1959, she married Robert L. Hartwig in Stephenson. Donna was a former resident of Peshtigo. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wallace.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Robert (Tanna) Hartwig, Wallace; two daughters, Meleen Drewery, Houston, TX, and Maureen Pellegrino, Austin, TX; two brothers, Jack and Tom Schroeder; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Aug. 2 at the Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, Daggett. The Rev. Craig Weber officiated.
Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette.
Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Helen Nancy O'Hara Jacobsen, 90, Menominee, died Nov. 11, 2009.
She was born March 27, 1919, at St. Joseph Hospital in Menominee.
She attended St. John's Elementary School and Menominee High School before going to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with a BS in speech pathology. She taught for a number of years. She married Jesse Jacobsen in 1943. He died Nov. 7, 1986. After their marriage and while Jes served in the United States Merchant Marine during WWII, Nan returned to Menominee to teach and be with family and friends. After the war, Nan and Jes made Menominee their home. In 1961, Jes received a job transfer and the family moved to Milwaukee. Then in 1970, after another transfer, the family moved to Denver. After Jes' death, Nan moved back to Menominee where she made her home until her death.
She was a member of Holy Spirit community.
She is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Elizabeth Jacobsen, New Rochelle, NY, Nancy Eileen Jacobsen and Mary Nell Wolff, both of Denver, CO, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nell Doyle O'Hara and John J. O'Hara; brothers, Michael and John Denis (Jack) O'Hara; and sister, Mary Eileen O'Hara.
A mass to celebrate the life of Helen will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Menominee.
Barbara G. Nylund, 74, Maple Lane Health Care Center, Township of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, WI, formerly of Green Bay, died April 20, 2010, at Maple Lane.
Memorial service will be held at Carney Evangelical Free Church, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m.
A luncheon will follow.
